- Clipper is a trademark for refillable lighters designed by Enric Sardá and owned by Flamagas S.A. since 1959, with the first Clipper lighter being manufactured in 1972. The rounded shape of the lighter has ended up becoming a visual icon. Clipper is the world leader in refillable lighters. The first Clipper lighter as we know it now was manufactured in 1972, and the current level of world production is millions of units annually. Clipper lighters are also highly valued in the hand-rolling community because the flint piece is removable and can be used to pack the rolled cigarettes.
