Flower
Rating 5/5 based on 1 vote(s)
The Scotch Bonnet (Capsicum chinense) is a tropical pepper plant known for its flavor and intense heat. It grows as a compact shrub that can reach between 60 and 120 cm in height. Its leaves are large, green, and slightly wrinkled. The peppers are rounded, with a distinctive shape that resembles a bonnet, hence its name. When ripe, they acquire vibrant colors, ranging from green to yellow, orange, or red. They have a fruity, slightly sweet, but extremely spicy flavor, reaching between 100,000 and 350,000 Scoville units. This pepper is common in Caribbean cuisine, used in hot sauces and marinades.
