    The Carolina Reaper (Capsicum chinense) is an extremely hot pepper plant, considered the hottest in the world. It grows as a medium-sized shrub, reaching between 60 and 120 cm in height. Its leaves are large and dark green, while its flowers are small and white. The fruits are wrinkled, bright red when ripe, with a characteristic stinger-shaped tip. This pepper reaches up to 2.2 million Scoville units, which gives it its extreme intensity. It prefers warm climates and well-drained soils, being valued for its use in very hot sauces and dishes.
