Product description
Mineral of natural origin (mica) subjected to a thermal process that causes it to expand and gives it its characteristic lamellar structure.

When subjected to high temperatures, the moisture content is released, giving rise to a product with a bellows-like appearance, low bulk density and high porosity.

This product can be used mixed with the substrate in order to enrich it, as it absorbs moisture and nutrients that remain in the medium available to the plant roots.

Vermiculite has excellent insulating qualities. It is used in seedbeds as a cover for seed trays in order to protect, insulate and maintain the humidity of the alveolus where the seed germinates.

It is also widely used in construction as an insulator in walls and roofs and as a lightweight aggregate for lightweight concretes and cements.

Properties of vermiculite:

- Vermiculite beneficially influences and corrects the main factors of plant development: temperature, humidity, light level, growth regulators and fertilisation.

- It helps to keep the temperature and humidity values of the medium constant so that the plant and root do not suffer sudden changes during their development.

- It can be used to create a dark environment for seeds that need low light to germinate.

- Vermiculite crops need less watering to maintain proper moisture levels.

- It corrects minor pH imbalances in irrigation.

- Due to its lightness it does not present any opposition to germination and seedling growth.

- It has a slow degradation that makes it very durable over time.
